Ok, so I know this isn't a card. This is my new dog Rocky. I just rescued him from the humane society on Friday Oct. 15, 2010. He was 1 of over 20 dogs brought in from a hoarders house. He's a 5 yr old chihuahua mix. A few didn't make it. Rocky is very skinny.. but I'll take care of that. I made him a flannel coat... and since I don't knit, bought him this sweater and little faux fur lined boots. My hubby walked him down to the neighbors house and she did this video of him. Isn't he the sweetest.

No new cards to post just yet.. just an update
Hi everyone. Thank you for the comments on the other posts. They are greatly appreciated. I don't have any new cards to post just yet. I have been busy making and sending the cards out as soon as they're finished. I've also been working on a wedding order. I am almost finished with it. But, don't you know that just as I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, I ran out of adhesive and the only store around here open that late was all out. ha ha. I will need to make a run into town later today. As soon as that order is complete I will be starting on my Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas cards. I'm very excited to get at them. I have a few ideas already and a few more brewing. I'm also getting ready to participate in a Holiday Bazaar that I've been invited to. How exciting is that? I will be busy, busy, busy for the next few months. That is not only a good thing but a great thing. Hopefully it will keep me out of trouble, if that's possible. lol. I will try to get some cards posted here sometime this week. Thanks for continuing to visit my blog.

Some New Cards as of Aug. 22nd 2010
I had a spell where I wasn't making any cards, just tending to "life". But, I've started up again and here are some recent cards and things I've made. Hope you like them.
This is a card I made just today. It is using a technique I just learned.. faux designer paper tearing.. The "torn designer paper" in the center is not torn nor designer paper at all.. I inked the background then used some rooster stamps I have, then added the dots. I really like this technique. I learned it from one of Dawns youtube video's. She's the best.

This is a candy bar slider. I love it, the ghost and happy halloween are popped up, so the web is suspended in the middle. The eyes of the bat on top are orange. The colors didn't come out very well.. but this is really adorable.
The suspended spider is very creepy looking, it is flocked, so it is furry.. you can't really see the top of the card very well, but it is embossed with a spider web that is sparkled, and has 2 bats popped off of it with yellow and red eyes. Again, colors are much more vibrant in person.

A fun get well card
I just loved this stamp as soon as I saw it. It's just the cutest with the little glass and tissue box, and his little legs with slippered feet hanging off the side. What's not to love. I know I'd smile if I recieved this. hmm is that sounding conceited? I hope not, I just love this stamp. I just had to make the picture bigger so that you could really see the stamp

Rainy Days and Late nights make for more cards.
I really like that when I'm bored or can't sleep, I always have my cards to fall back on. Here's what I've come up with recently.
On this card I colored the stamp, then cut it out. The inside isn't quite finished yet. I need to think of the sentiment I want on the inside. A birthday one of course. It is matted the same as the front with a wine glass in the lower right hand corner.
With this card, I've been dreaming of summer and summer fun, which of course includes BBQ'ing. So this is an invitation to a BBQ. Sorry about the lighting, was the wee hours of the morning.
This card was super fun to make. Good 'ole snail mail, it's still good for some things, like mailing cards. ha ha.
This is just a real quick birthday card but I like them.
And one for the soldiers

New Card
Well hi there everyone. I know it's been awhile, things have been hectic around here. I've made a few cards, but they've just been very simple, until now. A dear friend of mine (Jeannie Philips) made a card awhile ago, and I just loved it. So this is my version/take on it. I think this card is my new favorite. It was so much fun to make and has so much dimension. It just makes me smile. Ok enough chit chat, here it is:

New Techniques I've been trying out.. and a few regular cards I've made lately.
Sometimes you've just got to try something new. I've been having a lot of fun trying these new techniques. I really like the stained glass and the spinner. After making the spinner card I played with it all night. ha ha. It really doesn't take very much to amuse me does it. Ok here they are not in any particular order..
This is a card I originally made for easter, but after making it I realized it would be great for so many different occasions, so I made the same front, with 2 different sentiments inside.
This is the stained glass card. It is so pretty in person. I LOVE this technique. The butterfly image is popped off the page. This card has alot of depth to it.
Ok, so on this card, I tried my hand at making my own embossing folder. It took me a few tries. I thought I finally had it, then realized I had to flip the words. ha ha. Oh well, the end result is nice. I'm going to have to try doing more of these, if I can find some blank folders that are reasonably priced.
This is the spinner card. How fun are these? You flip the card side to side and the little fishy flips back and forth across the page.
This card I tried "flocking" for the first time. For those of you that don't know, flocking gives it a felt like texture. I really like this card. I don't like the picture though because it doesn't really show very well. I flocked the girl in purple. It is not as dark as it appears in the photo.
This card I'm not real sure about. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. I think I am going to flock the deer in the next ones.
This card was alot of fun to make. It is my first flower pot pocket card. Well my first pocket card of any kind. I like how it turned out. Other than the snail. I am working on that.
This is my first little girl card. No new techniques, just felt like making one.
Well, that's it for this post. Hope you enjoy the cards.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #24
Ok, so I've never entered one of these. But thought I'd give it a shot. I love their stamps. If you've never been to their site, you should go check it out. Here's the Link Peachy Keen Stamps They have the cutest stamps. For this card I used Peachy Keen Stamp PK-240 Say it with flowers. I like how it turned out.
I posted this card below too. I was going to use it as a Mothers Day card. But decided to leave it as a note card, because there could just be so many uses for it.

Ok, I loaded the other sunset card
I made this one into a sympathy card. I really like how it turned out. I wasn't sure at first, being as dark as it is. But after staring at it for awhile, I like it. I like to make these when I don't need them. Not fun cards to make when you have to make them. I saw these stamps (sentiments) and just had to have this sympathy set. I love this sentiment.

Two posts in 3 days. I'm getting Better. Ha ha.
I thought I'd share some more cards I've been working on. I tried the brayering.. just a tip, use glossy card stock. lol. On the first one I am showing, I used the 80 weight paper and you can see the lines. I think it still looks good, but would be much better with glossy paper. I was going to use the cb folder for the bird and reeds, but it would have put the bird at the top of the page. Wish I would have figured that out before hand. Ha ha. Soooo, I looked at the CB folder and free handed the bird and reeds. Not to shabby I think.
Ok, now on these next two, I really wanted a sunset to come out smooth, with no lines. I don't have any glossy card stock just yet, so I used photo paper. I didn't use the brayer, I used glimmer mist. I really like them. I then embossed the first one and colored in the leaves and branches. The 2nd one I used a stamp. I got the tree a bit to low. On the next one I make like this, I will raise the tree a tad. Ok, so I haven't loaded the 2nd one into the computer yet. I'll do that one another time.
This last one I am showing, I made for a challenge. While I was planning it out, I decided it might make a nice mothers day card. We'll see what it really ends up as.. but I'm thinking Mothers Day. I used my Heritage Cart. and the cb on this one. I used my trusty red marker to make all of the red dots and my white gel pen to doodle the white dots. The roses in center is a stamp that I colored with prisma pencils.

This is what I've been working on lately
Ok, so I haven't done a very good job at keeping this updated. I've been so busy. I've opened my online store, still working on getting that stocked. There has been alot going on in my personal life, that is starting to slow down finally. So, now that I can take a breath I will share some of the cards I've been working on lately. I've been having alot of fun with them. I've tried a couple new folds, the double display and the waterfall are my favorite new ones. The waterfall card entertained me all night, I just played and played with it. Ha ha.. I'm easily amused. I also tried an iris fold that I really like, but the card I made I wasn't pleased with so I won't be sharing it. The folds were perfect, but the color combo was not. lol. I'll make another one when things really slow down. I know our Curtis makes the most beautiful ones.. I am aspiring to be like him when I grow up. ha ha. Ok, enough chit chat.. here are the cards. I am just going to put them in the order that I have them saved on my computer. Not newest to oldest.
This is the waterfall card. The last layer that says "happy birthday" is orange. Not the color it is showing. I just can't get this card to take a good picture. I guess it's like me.. cannot take a good picture for nothing. You get the idea though.

I know I've made more than this since the last update.. But I'm not sure which ones I already have up. So I will look at my blog again and update it again later.
Oh, I forgot the holiday cards. See how I am. Ok, here they are.
